things to give the universe props for

some of the best things in the world:

  • miso soup (also good over vinegared rice, as I found out tonight)
  • not any TV, but the right TV shows, such as:

    • the 2nd season of "Millennium" (when Frank gets mired in prophecy, religion, both good and evil);
    • "The (aforementioned) Prisoner" and its American counterpart, "Nowhere Man"...both are about a man's identity being taken away, and his search to find out why, how, and how to get it back...not to mention escape the new life he's living in. Patrick McGoohan is much craftier than Bruce Greenwood, though both shows have their moments and weaknesses.
    • "Babylon 5", a five-year television novel about a space station (and all of the extensive literary and religious allusions contained therein).

  • relaxing weekends...I spent this afternoon, for example, wandering the Fifth Ave. Street Fair (here in Park Slope, Brooklyn), saying hi to folks, buying groceries and spices, cooking up a storm (made miso soup, rice, and double chocolate chip cookies), and now I'm working on ye old comick pitche...:)
  • people you care about (and hopefully care about you): definitely includes my family, Tabi, Joyce, my former coworkers at the land of half-wits, Wizardworld, Shaggy (whose wedding I've babbling about for a while), Gina-May (mad peace to ye, girl)...and so on and so forth.

thanks. :) (and it ain't even November, foo'!)
